Based off the Frances Mayes’ 1996 memoir, the film tells the story of a San Francisco based writer, who heads to the Tuscan Countryside to get away from all the drama in her life, after finding out her husband has been cheating on her. While in Tuscany, she purchases a gorgeous villa in Cortona called Villa Laura (known as 'Villa Bramasole' in the film) and rebuilds it into her new home.

3. Letters to Juliet 

Letters to Juliet, an all time favourite heart-warming film which follows the journey of Amanda Seyfried who travels to Verona and visits the site of Juliet’s balcony from the Shakespeare love story. Fascinated by the letters left on the wall asking Juliet for her help, the young American woman embarks on a journey to help an elderly woman named Sophie find her lost love.

Nowadays, the house of Juliet and its famous balcony featured in this film are the destination for tourists and lovers coming to Verona.
